Sailing on a Catamaran?

In the next few lines, we’ll convince you why everyone should try sailing on a catamaran at least once.

More and more often, we come across photos and stories of people who’ve left behind the stress and chaos of city life and chosen a nomadic lifestyle—whether it’s traveling in a van or camper, or spending months sailing the open sea.
Their stories and photos are so colorful and inspiring, they make you want to drop everything and leave right away. You start dreaming of waking up with the sunrise, diving into crystal-clear waters, catching fish and preparing fresh meals on deck in the evening. You picture yourself sailing a catamaran, stopping at wild beaches and charming little harbors, snorkeling, reading all day long. And you think, “That’s it! I’m doing it!”
You make the decision and start looking up sailing trips online. You find what you’re looking for, but just as you’re about to commit, your mind hits you with that all-too-familiar “But”… followed by a wave of doubts. Let’s start with the most obvious ones:

“It’s cramped.”

Actually, no! Catamarans are quite wide and spacious, comfortably fitting up to 8 people—perfect for fun trips with friends or peaceful family getaways.
There’s plenty of space on the deck, a bright shared area with a kitchen where the whole crew can hang out comfortably, two bathrooms with toilets, and four double cabins. It’s truly a floating apartment—sailing becomes a real pleasure!

“It’s dangerous.”

Sure, it used to be… but not anymore. Today’s catamarans are packed with advanced safety features, making it very hard to flip, lose direction, or break down.
And if anything does threaten your journey, you can just outrun it—catamarans are fast. Really fast.

“What about seasickness?”

First off, catamarans are much more stable than other types of boats, and they sway far less.
Second, let’s be honest—just hearing the phrase “seasickness” freaks people out. You imagine setting off on a week-long trip only to be knocked out by nausea on day one. But honestly? It’s not that bad. And it’s not even guaranteed to happen.
There are tricks—take motion sickness meds, keep your eyes on the horizon, eat dry foods throughout the day, or even have a drink to “trick” your balance system. Trust us, it’s manageable.

Experience Is Everything

No matter how much you read or hear, you just have to try it for yourself.
That’s why we’re organizing special 3-day sailing trips for anyone who wants to experience life on a catamaran. We’ll learn how to sail, fish, cook meals on deck, and most importantly—have fun.
We depart from the port of Keramoti, and over three days we’ll explore the beautiful waters around Thassos Island.
