This year, once again, we set off for our beloved Samothrace.

There’s a certain magic in welcoming spring—and especially Easter—on this island, where rituals celebrating the rebirth of life have taken root for millennia.

Samothrace is one of Greece’s most picturesque, mountainous, and isolated islands—only about 40% of its area is accessible and inhabited. This place is a tapestry of Thracian history, lush mountain vegetation, divine rivers and waterfalls, enchanting forests, cozy mountain villages, herds of wild goats, and a sea that tastes of Infinity. And it is precisely in spring, when nature is just awakening and blanketing the island in every shade of green, that we invite you to join us for a 4-day sailing adventure there!

We will sail past wild beaches, lagoons, and sheer cliffs, fish in the sea, hike to mountain waterfalls, and admire the mighty mountain from every angle—so tall and powerful that it even “hides the Moon.” It’s no coincidence that on this mystical shore once stood one of the greatest centers of pantheism—an ancient religion that revered all gods embodied in the forces of nature.

You don’t need to be a fan of moonlight dances to enjoy our offer. Since we’re not exactly spiritualists, we’ll also invite you to try another local specialty that’s not too far from pagan traditions. Strangely enough, the island is not famous for its seafood but for its outrageously delicious goat meat. The semi-wild herds roam the island’s wilderness, and their meat is aromatic with herbs—something even the most skilled chefs might struggle to replicate.

As sailors, though, we can’t take you to the goats without also providing seafaring adventures. We’ll be sailing with a sailing catamaran and a monohull yacht, taking every opportunity to raise the sails. The adventure lasts four days, and we hope for good sailing conditions so we can circumnavigate the island and show you the breathtaking waterfalls that can only be seen from the sea—and which are at their fullest this time of year.

One of the charms of the sea is its unpredictability. Our routes guarantee fun and a fulfilling experience, but they are tailored to ensure the safety and comfort of everyone on board. For this reason, the itinerary may be adjusted based on the weather forecast.

Day 1 / Friday (April 10) – Setting Sail from Porto Lagos

We meet at the port of Porto Lagos. After a brief safety briefing and settling into our cabins, we hoist the sails and head toward the mystical silhouette of Samothrace. A 5–6 hour open-sea crossing awaits us—the perfect time to feel the power of the wind and the freedom of sailing. Overnight stay at the port of Kamariotissa. Dinner at a local tavern, or you can choose to prepare your own meal on board (the yacht features a fully equipped galley with everything you need).

Day 2 / Saturday (April 11) – Wild Nature and Waterfalls

This day is dedicated to the “Sacred Island.” We will sail along the northern coast, where sheer cliffs meet the sea. Weather permitting, we will dock at Therma port and head ashore for a walk to the famous vathres (natural mineral water pools), enjoying the emerald waters nestled among ancient plane forests.

Day 3 / Sunday (April 12) – History, Chora, and Easter

On Easter morning, we can visit the Sanctuary of the Great Gods—the site where the famous Winged Victory of Samothrace (Nike) was discovered—or take a short trek to the Fonias waterfalls. In the afternoon, we will head up to Chora, the island’s main village, perched high in the mountains with narrow cobblestone streets. For the festive Easter dinner, we’ll travel to the mountain village of Profitis Ilias to enjoy traditional roasted goat, prepared by the island’s finest master, Apostolis.

Day 4 / Monday (April 13) – Southern Beaches and the Journey Home

Today, we explore the wilder southern coast and the legendary Pachia Ammos beach. Afterward, we set our course back to Porto Lagos. We’ll make the most of the final miles by enjoying the sail and, if we’re lucky, greeting the dolphins that often accompany us in these waters. Arrival at the port in the late afternoon.
